The Roost

Very nice house and very clean. If you are taking an elderly person just to know the parking is a little challenging and the toilets' are older so they are lower and harder for older people but all in all the house is very nice and has all the amenities you need.

"The Roost" exceeded all of our expectations! This mountain cottage home had everything we needed for a wonderful family vacation. This home was not only cozy and clean. It was close to everything we wanted to do and see in NC. We look forward to definitely book another stay there over the autumn and Christmas season.

The Roost is a great location offering access to Hiking, Cycling, and even Axe Throwing. That was a new activity and lots of fun. The owners had us ready to go upon arrival with all the necessities and a bottle of wine! No detail was too small to make our stay enjoyable. We all said how warm and welcoming the home was. A perfect fit for our family.

My favorite part of the property was watching the sunrise from the back balcony. It overlooks the most beautiful lush forest landscape! The birdfeeder was a popular place which was nice to watch, and a chubby little squirrel enjoyed several naps on the railing.

This is our second time staying at The Roost. The location is in a quiet neighborhood and is within an easy drive to Hendersonville and surrounding towns. The Roost is a cute historic cottage that is beautifully decorated. The furnishings are comfortable and well maintained. You will be greeted with fresh flowers, homemade baked goods and a basket filled with a variety of snacks. The owners live nearby and are very responsive to any needs. They take a lot of pride in The Roost and it shows!

The gas stove was great to have as well and the beds and living room furniture were all very comfortable.. fantastic neighborhood to walk in, community trails and we saw some deer too!"

We loved the stay. The house was so cozy gave the feeling we were at home. The city view from the stay was too good at night. Loved the city view. It was silent and was equipped with anything we needed. Our 5-year-old had the toys needed as well that my kid did not want to go from the property. We will plan to come again. "We loved our stay at the Roost! This is a well loved, cozy home with all the amenities - the extra touches like fresh flowers, toiletries, snacks and stoneware in the kitchen made it feel like a home away from home! We were looking for a getaway to break the monotony of working from home most of the year. We wanted something near all the hiking and biking trails and about mid way between Brevard and Asheville. This is the spot! The hosts live next door and are very friendly. We felt welcomed and got some great pointers on where to bike! We will definitely recommend this place to friends and hope to stay here again in the future! "

"This was a great house, exactly as described. Chef's kitchen was really great to cook in, the garage was a bonus for storing bikes. Porch was great for breakfast in the mornings. Neighborhood is very quiet, low key and felt very safe. I met the hosts briefly and they were super nice and very helpful. I'd stay here again for sure."

"Very pleased with the stay. It was in a perfect locale that was a great launching point for mountain adventures and Asheville visits. The attention to detail with the decor and creature comforts was the best I've ever experienced at an airbnb. The owner of the house lived next door and was so kind, even baking us fresh cookies for the first day and a coffee cake a few days later. The house is VERY well stocked including spices, small appliances, loads of coffee and tea options, bathroom extras (eye make up remover towels, Advil, cough drops). Having access to the garage was also convenient for storing our bikes and equipment out of the car but out of the house. The house is located along a marked hiking trail, which is a nice little wind through the small village. Grocery stores are 7 minutes away in Hendersonville, as are the BEST restaurants in town, Postero and Haus Heidelberg (make reservations). The owners keep it very well stocked and the overall experience was great. We had a very positive experience with Carolina Mornings and this property - we would recommend. 5-star cleanliness, furnishings and bedding. "

"My husband and I stayed in this delightful place on our vacation to the area. It was cozy, clean, quiet, and comfortable with all the modern amenities. But who needs a TV (although there is one) with that view! The hosts were terrific! Their hospitality was warm and generous and they had great ideas on things to do in the area. Just down the hill was the Appalachian Coffee company, an establishment that included food, coffee, AND wine. We visited Asheville, the Carl Sandburg home and Glassy Rock Mountain, hiked to Triple Falls in the DuPont forest, and attended the Flat Rock movie theatre, a quaint theatre that included appetizers and cocktails, on a rainy afternoon. The Burnt Shirt winery in the area was a great way to spend an afternoon! Hendersonville, itself, is a marvelous little jewel to browse through shops on the main street and discover delicious places to eat. We would highly recommend 'The Roost' and will definitely be making a return trip! "

We had the most wonderful sister weekend in this idyllic setting. The lovely cottage was filled so many little details that made our weekend so special. We loved drinking coffee in the morning while watching the sunrise . In the evening the deck was a perfect place to drink wine while enjoying each others company. We have already made plans to return next year. This little hidden treasure will be the perfect place for me to bring my husband on our anniversary.

The kitchen has everything you would need including a great range. Nice views from the deck, surrounded by beautiful changing leaves. Easy to find, secluded location but still easy drive to downtown H-ville. Giant bathtub and fireplace were a hit after a long day of hiking. The towels were especially fluffy and absorbent. Would definitely stay again."

"We have done our share of rental homes and feel that you should make a point to visit Hendersonville and rent The Roost. The choice of this property was first looked into and was one of three homes that were liked. Since this was a birthday celebration extended weekend I had the birthday person have the final say. After asking a couple of questions to the owners, who responded promptly our choice was made. Upon arrival I was assured that we made the right choice as the birthday person unlocked the front door and I heard ""this is beautiful, I love it!"" There was nothing but charm and quality throughout the home complete with a great wood burning fireplace that we used each night. This quiet property is a must do with so many surrounding activities for you to experience. We will be going back soon."

"My family and I had an excellent experience renting this darling cottage. Its neighborhood is nice & quiet. We enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood. I found wild raspberries & tons of beautiful plants. Plus flowers that were in bloom. The owners of the cottage were very nice & accommodating. The master bedroom has a nice bath tub too!! Our first night we enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the sky lite up with fireflies .. It was absolutely incredible!! I've seen fireflies before but never the amount that were out this night. The kitchen is awesome and there was everything utensils wise to cook up any meal including good condiments to use and some fresh food/butter, milk etc. for us to use. Lastly the owners made fresh make cookies the first day we got there. That were delicious!! I can not think of one negative thing to write on here. It's a sweet place to escape to. Plus conveniently close to downtown Hendersonville. Including it's not too far to drive to many waterfalls, hikes & sites. Close to The Carl Sandburg home. A must see that is the closet. Flat Rock is minutes from this cottage as well & it's not a far drive to many other little towns like Saluda & Brevard. The owners were kind enough to pull out a box of toys they had tucked away for our youngest child that is 4.. and my oldest enjoyed the coziness of the cottage as well. Your whole family can feel at home. While you're away from home & we would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away to the mountains."

"We spent a quiet, peaceful month at The Roost late summer 2019, and it was our favorite vacation rental ever! The hosts welcomed us like family and treated us like royalty.
