The Knob

My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for a relaxing getaway for my birthday. We rented a car, as opposed to an SUV, with no issues getting up the steep driveway. We arrived before dark, which was helpful, so we knew how to navigate the rocking slope. Once you get to the top, we were greeted by the most beautiful place! Pictures just don't do it justice. The house is clean, and modern, with simple decor and a place you can call home for a couple of days. We appreciated the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and I loved the full-length mirror! Although we mostly utilized the main level and loft area, the basement was just as beautiful! The wrap-around deck with the hot tub was my favorite part. We enjoyed our mornings with coffee, our afternoons with an adult beverage, and the evenings in the hot tub, all with the view of mountains and nature. Gorgeous! The loft area inside had a huge comfy sofa where we relaxed and enjoyed Netflix after a full day of sightseeing. You cannot go wrong with this property!

The cabin was just as described. The porch was perfect for morning coffee and evening wine - complete with great views. Secluded but close to enough to everything. We hiked, ziplined, and kayaked. There was lots of wildlife. We were visited by a bear, wild turkeys, a family of rabbits, and a muskrat. It was the perfect getaway for me and my husband. Next time we’re bringing the whole family. We made it up the drive in a car but I would recommend at least a crossover or small SUV in the summer.

Beautiful cabin, nicely situated on a quiet mountain. The kitchen was well stocked, furniture was very comfortable! The only issue we had was with trying to get ahold of someone on the weekend when we were having issues with the hot tub. It was a little over 4 hours before I got a brief response after multiple calls and texts. Otherwise lovely stay.

Perfect location if you're looking for seclusion! Views are incredible - able to take in all of God's beautiful creation! The cabin felt just like home - rustic with modern amenities.

The newly built cabin had beautiful design and finishings! You are surrounded by nature, yet just a quick drive away from the quaint mountain town of Black Mountain or the livelier, sprawling Asheville, alike! It was nice to go out for the day with a list of places to visit and return to such a peaceful setting, under the stars and away from the towns/cities. We even got to see a momma bear and two cubs off the porch on our last morning!

We enjoyed our stay at the Knob! Tucked away up on a wooded mountainside, and far from neighbors. Recently built and very clean. The dual shower head in the bathroom was great, enjoyed the hot tub also, overlooking the woods. We’re allergic to smells, and when we got there, found the sheets were washed with a perfumed soap. We texted the owner and were impressed - he responded immediately, and brought us over new cotton sheets from Target, that day! The road up to the Knob is a somewhat rutted road and a bit of a climb, but you don’t need an all-wheel drive. Between the owner and Carolina Mornings, the communication and response were superb. Great cabin up in the mountains. Perfect for our long weekend getaway. Close enough to Asheville to take advantage of all it has to offer, but still far enough out to be completely quiet when sitting out on the deck. The road up to the cabin is no joke and would highly recommend a 4x4 if there is any chance of inclement weather.

Gorgeous cabin in the woods, only 30 minutes to Asheville! The cabin was very well equipped and had all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. A grocery store was only 10 minutes away.

We had a blast staying at the cabin. We spent most of our time at Biltmore but were able to chill at the cabin plenty. It was the perfect place to wind down after a long day and let the kids relax. We saw a bear first thing in the morning and enjoyed the Fall color. Thank you for everything!

We had such a great time here. Love the cabin, everything was perfect! We saw a bear within the first 30 minutes of being here. It was about 30 feet from the deck. We enjoyed walking trails and sightseeing. Mount Mitchell was beautiful. The leaves were beginning to change. We enjoyed some great food. We can't wait to come back. We enjoyed our honeymoon week at the cute cabin and had a few sightings of neighborhood beaver! We got some good fishing & kayaking in by the Biltmore and loved little coffee shops & an oyster bar in Black Mountain. We'll be back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay here at The Knob. My brother and I really enjoyed the loft and board games, my parents enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading. We all loved the hot tub. We went to many places like Charles Owen Park, Biltmore, Dinner ins Asheville, and Black Mountain. Surprisingly, on our first morning, we saw a black bear just strolling on the road. We loved our stay here.

This place is awesome! Close enough to Asheville to enjoy the city but also a secluded and private place in the mountains. There are good trails right out the front door. We saw plenty of wildlife; deer, bears, birds, etc. I’d certainly stay there again.

Three of us come to stay at the cabin. The trip up the driveway sounds like everyone else's trip. The cabin was lovely. A place that we enjoyed for breakfast was the Blue Ride Dining Room at the Grove Park Inn. The views are good. The price is a bit high but worth it. You can also stroll through the hotel to get some background history. We saw two black bear cubs on the way up the driveway today.

Four of us stayed comfortably - this cabin is perfect. Rustic, yet modern with conveniences and other furnishings. The location couldn't be better. We loved being secluded but were close enough to visit Black Mountain, downtown, and many more. We plan on returning.

My husband and I plus our dog spent 10 days in this wonderful, remote, and quiet retreat! The cabin is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. We enjoyed the hot tub at night under the stars. The beds were comfy and the master shower was superb! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at The Knob!

We loved our stay here celebrating our 15th anniversary. The cabin is so beautiful and clean. We loved the hot tub and deck. The highlight of our stay was seeing bears. We saw a mama bear and two cubs. She left the cubs in the woods while she looked for food around the cabin. Eventually, the cubs came into the open yard where we could get a good view of them. We even got to see the cubs climb a tree and play wrestle. Such an amazing experience.

This cabin was very nice, new, and well designed. The deck was fantastic with great views to enjoy while relaxing in the hot tub. We saw deer, plenty of turkeys, and a black bear! Great proximity to Asheville, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and more. Some small details could improve the experience (soap dishes in bathrooms, basic spices in kitchen, trash receptacle for when bags get full, and new silverware, plates, and glasses), but overall we’d definitely stay again. We loved our stay at The Knob. As others said, the drive-up was scary but the view is worth it. During our stay, we visited the Omni Grove, Blue Ridge Parkway, and many breweries. We recommend going to Athens Pizza. We will absolutely stay again.

As the host mentions, don’t rely on GPS. When you turn on the road where the cabin is located, GPS will tell you you’ve arrived at the bottom of the hill and you have not. Just keep driving up the mountain—you’ll pass two houses (not including the tiny house) and then you’ll find the Knob. The location was PERFECT—it was so quiet and we didn’t see a soul. Lots of turkeys so be prepared to be entertained! There’s no closet space but ample hooks available so just be prepared to not hang up clothes. Kitchen is nicely stocked so I was able to cook meals without hassle; the house is beautiful and the back deck is perfection with a lovely sunrise view. I will definitely be back to stay again!

Carolina Mornings was the perfect stay for the 6 of us! We especially enjoyed the spacious and perfect hot tub privately located on the deck. amenities were excellent and the master bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were beautiful and modern. We felt like we were in a nest within the mountains.

Loved getting away to enjoy nature. Excellent hiking trails, lovely cabin, and great day adventures. Highly recommend Pisgah National Forest. We also visited The Biltmore and went Axe Throwing. Really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and playing games on the deck.

We enjoyed our time at the Knob. This cabin is beautiful. The drive up the first time was a bit stressful. Glad we arrived during the day. Asheville was nice. We enjoyed a really nice dinner at Chestnut. Biltmore of course was great. The shops and restaurants in Black Mountain were a nice touch too. Another nice dinner at Black Mountain Bistro. Best time to celebrate 2nd year of marriage
