Location Details
What could be more convenient than having a gas station, a country store, and a popular lunch spot right at the end of your driveway? The DD Restaurant, short for Dillingham and Dillingham, has been operated by the home owners' family since 1965. Across the fishing pond is a quiet, local mobile home park. During the summer months, a tree screen obscures most of it from view. Down the road into Bernardsville you will find further evidence of the family's local roots at Dillingham Presbyterian Church, a beautiful stone chapel. For a lovely mountain drive, access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only ten miles away. A short drive to nearby Weaverville offers shops, groceries, and a well-known bakery, and downtown Asheville is easily accessible by nearby Interstate 26. This Asheville vacation rental is located in Weaverville and is approximately 19 minutes to downtown Asheville, 2,100ft above sea level.

Meet the Owners
"Two years ago, I inherited the property I grew up on along with a brand new, nearly completed barn - my father's last project before his passing. My wife and I decided to turn it into a "dacha." Having spent a significant amount of time working in Eastern Europe and Russia, we adopted the cultural concept of having a dacha, which translates to second home, but really means that although you may eat, sleep, go to work, school, etc. somewhere else, a dacha is your true family 'home.' Dillingham Dacha was built by our friends and family that work as local professionals and craftsmen in Barnardsville. The location of our dacha provides us a way of ensuring our children have time with our extended families and enjoy some of the same experiences and mountain landscapes that my wife and I grew up with in the area."
