A Visitor's Guide to Touring Asheville: Part II

Part II: The Riding Tours

Earlier this week, we wrote about the walking tours of Asheville, but the opportunities for seeing our fine city do not stop there! For those of you looking for an effortless journey through the heart of Downtown, the following tours are precisely what you seek!

La Zoom Comedy Tours

The La Zoom Comedy Tour is a unique way to get a glimpse into a local’s vision of the city – and a good laugh too! Each one of the tour guides – talented, dedicated, and hilarious in his or her own way – will provide you with an introduction to Asheville’s history, architecture, and neighborhoods. Expect to learn, to laugh, and to see some sights that only a comedic genius could show you. Plus, the Carolina Mornings Concierge Teamwill happily arrange a tour for our guests at a discounted rate!

Gray Line Trolley Tours

The classic Grey Line trolleys of Asheville’s Gray Line Trolley Tours will take you on a nostalgic journey through the history, homes, and hot-spots of our amazing city. The Hop-On/Hop-Off tour allows you to Hop-On for some historical insights to the city, then Hop-Off to experience the galleries, shops, restaurants, and breweries first hand! Other tours are available at different times of the year (the Ghost Tours will make you scream with delight and the Christmas Tour will leave you feeling the joy and merriment of the holidays). Private Chartered Tours are also available and well beloved by wedding and birthday parties!

The Amazing Pubcycle

The Amazing Pubcycle is a perfectly Ashevillean way to see the city! Memorable, fun, weird, and eclectic, the Pubcycle offers tour goers a 13-person pedal powered (and – fear not – motor assisted) vehicle for transporting both fun and beer around town. But what is it, you wonder? It’s a Bring-Your-Own-Beer or Wine 13 person pedal powered trolley on wheels! A certified Tour Driver sits in the driver’s seat and the speed never goes above 6mph.

Asheville Bike Taxi

The Asheville Bike Taxi offers a 45 minute private sightseeing tour of Downtown Asheville in a state of the art bike taxi. Choose from one of two awesome tours – the Asheville City Tour or the Montford Neightborhood and Greenway Tour. On the Asheville City Tour, riders are pedaled around in a comfortable pedicab while the Tour Guide points out some of the area’s best restaurants and boutiques, and of course the historic art deco architecture that helps make Asheville one of the most eclectic cities in the Southeast. The Monford Neighborhood and Greenway Tour is a pleasant roll through Asheville’s historic and colorful Montford Neighborhood. The stately trees lining the street and the beautiful, colorful houses will leave riders feeling calm and nostalgic.

Where to Stay

Carolina Mornings has dozens of amazing cabin rentals available for visitors to the area, many of which are located in Asheville itself. For a true neighborhood feel, Liberty House has it all - a quaint and charming 2 bedroom home with luxurious furnishings, a well-stocked gourmet kitchen, and a lush garden area. Nestled on a quiet street in a historic neighborhood, Liberty House offers its guests a truly local experience. Larger groups may prefer City Retreat – a 3 bedroom home in a family-friendly West Asheville neighborhood. Soaked in sunlight and complemented by artistic décor, City Retreat is the perfect home from which to explore the life of the city and the peace of the mountains.
