North Carolina Mask Requirement Currently in Effect
Businesses in the Asheville area are supportive of a state-wide rule requiring the use of masks in public indoor spaces, requesting that their customers and guests cooperate with the rule for the mutual safety of visitors and locals. The order, instituted by the Governor of North Carolina, requires people, with some exceptions, to wear face coverings in public when social distancing is not possible. This includes a direction to wear masks both indoors and outdoors, including on sidewalks, where 6 feet of distance can’t be maintained. More info can be found here.
Biltmore Estate Grounds and Hotel
Biltmore’s House, Gardens, Grounds, and Antler Hill Village are now open to guests with reduced hours and limited capacities. Our Mountain Discovery Pass (which includes a Biltmore Estate pass) may be used during this time, but we cannot guarantee availability due to capacity restrictions. We thank you for your understanding during this time! For the latest details on Biltmore operations, go here.
Blue Ridge Parkway and Outdoor Areas
Much of the Blue Ridge Parkway and adjacent hiking trails are open for passage. Parks as well as state and national forest areas are open, including the North Carolina Arboretum and Grandfather Mountain. So, too, are Pisgah National Forest, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Buncombe County and City of Asheville municipal parks.

You and your family’s safety is always a top priority at Carolina Mornings. On top of our already high cleaning standards, we are following CDC guidelines to ensure you and your family are kept safe in our homes & cabins. WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY STAY WITH CAROLINA MORNINGS?
Carolina Mornings cancellation policy during COVID-19 is being handled in the following manner:
All of our vacation packages are non-refundable.
Carolina Mornings offers Travel Insurance to protect against issues that may prevent your group from traveling, which includes sickness (COVID-19). Every vacation package is offered Travel Insurance at the time of booking, and we highly recommend guests review this coverage and consider this option. If you decline Travel Insurance and your travel is impacted by any coverable event, your only recourse will be for us to attempt to rebook any unused nights, and forfeit any money we can not re-rent (per the terms of our Vacation Rental Agreement). There will be no refunds or credits available.
However, in the case that a governmental agency strictly prohibits travel during this time, which is not covered by Travel Insurance, Carolina Mornings will allow the guest to receive a gift certificate to be used at a later date at the same property (restrictions apply, please see below). Documentation is required showing that a travel restriction has been placed at a local, state, or federal level and prevents you from traveling. (Please note that individual job restrictions do not apply.)
This credit has the following terms:
- Your credit is the full amount paid to Carolina Mornings for your previous reservation, less any amount paid for travel insurance (if applicable). Special note: the credit will only apply towards funds received by Carolina Mornings. If you reserved through a 3rd party booking site (such as Airbnb or Vrbo), the amount Carolina Mornings receives may be different than what you paid (due to listing site service fees, commissions, etc).
- If your new reservation costs more than your credit, you will be responsible for paying any difference.
- When booking your next trip, any minimum number of nights required for your new dates will be required.
- There will be no refunds for partial redemption.
- All redemptions must be facilitated through our office and cannot be applied to online reservations. Please call or email us to redeem when you are ready.
- This credit is only good for the original property booked, and is subject to availability.
- This credit must be redeemed by 12/20/2021 or it will be forfeited.
- This credit may be used during the following months only, excluding any holidays: Jan, Feb, Mar, April, May, Sept, Nov, Dec.
- You must call to make your new reservation more than 24 hours in advance of the arrival date.
This temporary cancellation or suspension means that the payments you made will be held as a credit toward a future reservation in the same vacation rental for any available dates in the months listed above. If you still owe money on your vacation, that final payment will be charged 30 days before the new arrival.
