Spending Thanksgiving Weekend in Asheville, NC!

Spending Thanksgiving Weekend in Asheville, NC!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we're busy counting our blessings! Asheville is a wonderful place to gather loved ones for the holiday - and we're excited to share it with you! Read on for more information about our favorite Thanksgiving Weekend activities.

Take a Hike
Some of the best hiking in the world can be found in the National Forests surrounding our magnificent mountain city. Journey to the Pisgah National Forest to explore over some of the over 500,000 acres of pristine, protected forest. Hundreds of waterfalls and trails await you! Looking to head a bit further south? Look into visiting Nantahala National Forest, where you can experience some of the most startlingly beautiful rock formations in the area.

Visit the Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore Estate is a popular, year round destination - and for good reason! Though many immediately think of "America's First Mansion", there is so much more to this Estate. Gardens, trails, the French Broad River, ponds, lakes, and fields make up the grounds. Amazing, award winning restaurants dot the Estate. And when you're ready to head indoors and take in the awesome beauty of the house itself, you'll feel humbled by the incredible work done by historical preservationists.

Explore the Adventure Center of Asheville
We just love the concept of Green Friday, and so does the Adventure Center of Asheville!  Not far from the heart of Downtown Asheville, the Adventure Center is hotspot for outdoor fun. They'll be donating 50% of all revenue made the day after Thanksgiving to environmental causes in Western North Carolina. So while the kids zip and climb through TreeTops Park, or enjoy a Canopy Tour through the grounds, you can rest easy knowing that your afternoon activity has far reaching, positive effects!
